The center of the Solar System is the Sun. The Solar System is made up of the Sun and all the planets, asteroids, and other objects that orbit the Sun. There are eight planets in our Solar System. Starting with the closest to the sun they are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. The closest four planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars) are termed terrestrial planets, meaning they have a hard rocky surface. The furthest four planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune) are called gas giants. These planets are much larger and their surface is composed of gas elements (mostly hydrogen).
Güneş Sisteminin merkezi Güneş’tir. Güneş Sistemi, Güneş’ten ve tüm gezegenlerden, asteroitlerden ve Güneş’i çevreleyen diğer nesnelerden oluşur. Güneş Sistemimizde sekiz gezegen var. Güneşe en yakın olanlardan başlayarak Merkür, Venüs, Dünya, Mars, Jüpiter, Satürn, Uranüs ve Neptün’dür. En yakın dört gezegene (Merkür, Venüs, Dünya ve Mars) karasal gezegenler denir, bu da sert kayalık bir yüzeye sahip oldukları anlamına gelir. En uzak dört gezegene (Jüpiter, Satürn, Uranüs ve Neptün) gaz devleri denir. Bu gezegenler çok daha büyük ve yüzeyleri gaz elementlerinden (çoğunlukla hidrojen) oluşuyor.
In terms of mass, the Sun comprises over 99.8% of the Solar System, with the planet Jupiter accounting for most of the remaining mass. All objects in the Solar System orbit the Sun; that is, they move around the Sun in elliptical paths. Moreover, the orbits of these objects lie roughly in the same plane, called the ecliptic plane.
Kütle bakımından Güneş, Güneş Sisteminin% 99,8’ini oluşturur ve Jüpiter gezegeni kalan kütlenin çoğunu oluşturur. Güneş Sistemindeki tüm nesneler Güneş’in yörüngesindedir; yani eliptik yollarda Güneş etrafında hareket ederler.
